The Elsewhere ExperienceA Nurturing Minds experience
Access and getting there

Everyone should be able to arrive, settle and take part.

Access, privacy and comfort are planned from the start. The venue is not confirmed yet, so this page says what we are planning and what we still need to settle. We will fill in the details as soon as we can.

Getting there

Venue, directions and transport.

Once the venue is chosen we will publish its address, how to reach it by road and public transport, where to park and how to get a ride home after 23:00. Guests who have registered their interest will hear first.

Tell us what would help you get here, and we will keep it in mind when we plan.

Arriving and settling in

A warm, unhurried start.

Time to settle Planned

Doors are planned for 15:30 and the programme for 16:00, so there is half an hour to arrive, register, have a welcome drink and find your feet.

A quiet space all evening Planned

A calm corner is open from doors to close, for stillness, prayer, silence or simply a sit-down. There is no instruction and no one watching. More

Take part your way Planned

Every activity is optional, with a visible way to opt out or rest. You can join in, watch, or rest, and change your mind. Movement is kept within sensible limits and led by trained facilitators.

Shared tables Planned

Dinner is a shared meal at long tables, with soft music, so a large evening stays personal. Seating arrangements are still to be confirmed.

Privacy and consent Planned

Nobody is asked to share personal struggles. Any wellbeing check is optional and anonymous. Photography arrangements are still to be confirmed.

Help if you need it Planned

Physical and emotional practices have trained facilitators and a clear route to professional support. Who is on hand, and where, will be confirmed with the venue.

What we are asking of the venue

Choosing a place that works for people.

Accessibility is one of the things we will check before we confirm a venue. Here is what we will look for. Until the venue is chosen, we cannot say how any of it will work on the night.

  • Seating for dinner and rest, with room to move between areas
  • A quiet space away from the main sound
  • Toilets, with accessible facilities
  • Step-free routes in and around the venue
  • Sensible lighting and sound levels
  • Parking and a safe way to arrive and leave
  • Power, security and first aid for at least 200 guests

Step-free access, accessible toilets and similar details To be confirmed until we have visited and confirmed a venue.

Food and drink

Tell us what you need to eat well.

Refreshments are served from the moment guests arrive, and dinner has its own slot, so nobody has to choose between eating and taking part.

When you book we will ask about dietary needs, including halal, vegetarian and allergy requests. If you are registering your interest now, you can already mention them in the note box.
