Ideas for a moment of gratitude

Some of the ways gratitude, quiet and service could appear in the evening. All are ideas, and all are invitations.

Faith shapes why The Elsewhere Experience exists. Guests meet it as warmth, generosity and meaning rather than as instruction. Here are some ways we are thinking about that in practice. They are ideas, not a confirmed programme.

A wall of thanks#

Guests write what they are thankful for on a card and add it, anonymously, to a shared wall that grows through the evening.

A quiet space#

A calm corner open all evening for stillness, prayer or silence. Read more in the quiet space.

Questions to pick up or ignore#

Optional questions about purpose, meaning and direction, placed on tables and in the quiet space.

A gesture of service#

A visible way to give, such as a portion of ticket revenue or a collection for a community cause, chosen together with a partner.

Beauty and wonder#

Music, art, light and natural materials, chosen to inspire appreciation.

A closing word of thanks#

A short, non-denominational note of gratitude as the evening ends, in place of a sermon.
